What to Expect:

This map reading masterclass will build on your fundamental navigation and map reading using OS maps. An initial and short theory session followed by a full day out on the hills which will give you plenty of opportunity to practice and gain advice and encouragement from your school of adventure instructor. By the end of the day you will have developed a more comprehensive approach to map reading techniques and gained further experience for you next adventure
Please Note: Expect to walk approximately 10km throughout the day. The day will start and finish at the Alpkit shop, so if travelling by car please park somewhere suitable for the full day.

What to Bring:

Laminated maps provided, several compasses available to borrow & also available to buy from the Alpkit store (dependant on availability).

You will need a packed lunch, suitable walking footwear and waterproofs.

Meeting Times & Logistics:
Please meet at Alpkit Ambleside at least 15 minutes before the course starting time to meet your guide, prep your equipment and ensure a timely departure. Any delay in departure will shorten the group’s experience.
