Bikepacking with Kids - What you need to know for a successful trip

Rich Siepp presents tips for bikepacking trips with children

Join us at Alpkit Hathersage on December 3rd for an evening of advice and tips on bikepacking with kids, presented by Rich Siepp.

Rich has ridden over 22,000 miles with his son, Tom. He'll cover a range of tips from equipment and clothing to specific considerations when riding with young people.

Below are some of the rides that they've done, which have given Rich a wealth of experience.

  • Their first big trip was when Tom was just 7 years old - a double coast-to-coast in a chilly October.
  • When Tom was 12, Rich and Tom rode the 550 mile Highland Trail in Scotland, a demanding route that required careful planning.
  • The following summer they followed the route of the 1955 Tour de France, which was 2,950 miles.
  • Their most recent big trip was the 2,745 mile Tour Divide which starts in Banff, Canada and finishes on the Mexican border at Antelope Wells.

  • The presentation will start at 6:30pm on December 3rd and will last for approximately 2 hours. There will be a slideshow with the opportunity to ask questions.

Tickets are free for under 16s and £10 for adults. The ticket price includes refreshments and a beer for those who'd like one.
