Join us at Alpkit Ilkley on October 9th at 7pm for a talk by local running legend Stephen Fry, covering his liftetime of endurance challenges and advice on motivation. Part of the month-long 'Ilkley Adventure Festival' event series.

Part one of the talk Stephen will guide us through some of his more challenging adventures: the places he has been; the people he's seen; the friends he's made and the ups and downs of the journeys.

Including:

  • Running coast to coast 190 miles in 3 1/2 days
  • Running UTMB and other Alpine races
  • Running 3 x around Yorkshire 3 peaks in 22 hours
  • Running length of Leeds to Liverpool Canal 127 miles in 26 hours
  • Walking GR10 length of Pyrenees in 36 days
  • Running from Lands End to John O Groats in 28 days

  • After a short refreshment break and chance to have an informal chat with Stephen part two entitled: "This way to your endurance dreams." Stephen will share how he motivates people to achieve their own personal goals and help them through the turmoil along the way.

Stephen is a 61 years old grand father, and proudly states "If I can do it - you can too"

"I'm a lover of all things running. Track, road, cross country, trail and fell. I love the moors, hills and mountains. Member and endurance running coach at Bingley Harriers. Love to read about and see people trying to achieve their own personal endurance goals and discovering their own personal road to Endorphia."
