About Sonder Bikes

#SONDERBIKES

Sonder ... the realisation that each random passerby is living a life as vivid and complete as our own - populated with their own ambitions, friends, routines, worries and inherited craziness.
An epic story that continues invisibly around you.

Sonder Bikes

Sonder Bikes launched in 2015 with 3 game-changing bikes for UKs mixed terrain and road conditions. A gravel bike, a titanium wilderness trail bike and an aggressive 27.5+ boost hardtail trail bike: all hand built with sweetspot geometry and the latest components for an out-the-door whole bike riding experience.

We maintain obsessive control over our design and development process using premium materials and the best factories in the world to ensure finely crafted frames and component across our entire range.

We reject tribalism. Sonder is to fill the gap between full-on road race peleton and downhill mountain bikes creating bikes for the multi-disciplinary rider.

Direct-to-consumer and with 10 shop-in-shops throughout the UK, every bike and wheel is built in the UK to order with a reputation for service, build to order customisation and bespoke handbuilt bike frames.

We followed our first three bikes with a bikepacking hardtail, a classic steel tourer, an endurane road bike, a 29er aggressive hardtail, a short travel and a mid-travel full suspension mountain bike. All with sweetspot geometry and latest component technology.

Europes only Certified B Corp bike brand

Sonder is the only bike brand in Europe to be a certified B-Corp. Social justice and environmentally preferable choices are written through every detail. Long-lasting performance components that are repairable and early adoptors of the latest recycled technologies.

Through Alpkit Foundation, you have supported over 2,000 direct action grass roots projects to get people outside.

Sonder is Alpkit's twin joined by the simple joy of riding, love of being outdoors and a belief in nature.

How we build our bikes

All bikes are handbuilt in the UK by our team of skilled mechanics in our workshop on the edge of the Peak District.

How we make our wheels

Our wheels are made in our workship using premium rims, spokes and hubs. We build our own wheels so all our bikes have wheelsets developed for that specific bike for a complete whole-bike ride experience.

Meet the designer

Award-winning presenter Aoife Glass talks to Isla Rowntree, Founder of Isla Bikes, Dom Mason, Founder and Designer at Mason Progressive Cycles, and our very own Neil Sutton, Sonder Product Manager as they chat all things bike design.
