Ian is a secondary school teacher living on the edge of the Lake District with wife Katie and dog Ernie. An ex skater, BMX rider and snowboarder Ian has spent the last 20 years racing mountain bikes. If he's not doing any of those, you can catch Ian making short films about people doing various sports that have been shown at events such as Kendal Mountain Festival.

After taking a year out of racing bikes he went from ‘Couch to Bob Graham’ in 9 months and ran the Wainwrights in the same summer but Lyme’s Disease left him bed-bound and all activity halted!

The last 2 years have been spent getting back to full health ready to race again in the summer of 2022.
