A Walking Work of Art

A Walking Work of Art

By Connie Ceuppens

The Alpkit Foundation is delighted to be supporting Morven as she travels around the entire coast of Scotland on foot to raise money for the Scottish Mountain Rescue. We'll be providing her with a tentto shelter her through the, often wild, Scottish nights.

Morven's journey will begin in Berwick-upon-Tweed; from here she will head up the east coast and down the west to finish in Gretna. During the walkshe will not only be fundraising for the Scottish Mountain Rescue, but creating a body of artwork that reflects modern life on the Scottish coastline. This exhibition will tour around Scotland in 2019, with up to 50% sales being donated to the Mountain Rescue.

The start date for the project is set for mid-April 2018 and should take roughly six months, finishing in October or November. Morven also hopes to engage with the communities she passes through by becoming involved in local events. You can also support her Just Giving Drawn to Sea project.

This walk is a great opportunity to create an exhibition that takes an in-depth look at some incredibly remote, isolated, and often overlooked communities in Scotland. Morven hopes that her work will encourage others to support and explore these areas and give people an inside look at a lifestyle they may never have the opportunity to see.

We look forward to hearing more about Morven's adventure!

The Alpkit Foundationsupports projects that enable people to overcome the obstacles preventing them from Going Nice Places and Doing Good Things.
