Clifton Community School's D of E Award

Clifton Community School's D of E Award

By Connie Ceuppens

The Alpkit Foundation is proud to be supporting Clifton Schools D of E students by making a cash donation to help with overnight camping costs for the expedition.

At Clifton School, the Duke of Edinburgh award is targeted at giving young people the chance to develop their practical, transferable skills.

The D of E gives group leaders the opportunity to promote independence in young people, providing them with the chance to build their social and interpersonal skills so that they can leave school feeling more prepared for life outside of formal education. It also offers them the chance to do something they normally wouldn’t get the chance to do.

Through the award, young people will be able to to get out in the community, mix with peers from diverse backgrounds, and learn new life skills. This will encourage community cohesion, help build positive relationships between the diverse communities in the local area.

We supported this porject because many students cannot afford the costs involved with the award, and are at risk of missing out on many of the beautiful places that the world has to offer. We look forward to hearing how they get on with their expedition!

The Alpkit Foundationsupports projects that enable people to overcome the obstacles preventing them from Going Nice Places and Doing Good Things.
