KindleWoods CIC is an innovative social enterprise passionate about supporting wellbeing and the environment. As a response to Covid19, they are running Woodland Wellbeing programmes for adults experiencing mental health challenges, including those with anxiety, depression, self-harm behaviours and PTSD for example who have been adversely affected by the pandemic.
Sessions are in the woods, and they support people to grow in confidence, learning new skills in bushcraft and strategies to support their own wellbeing, as well as meet with others in a socially distanced, non threatening way. One fantastic example of just how it can change someones life is that of Rob's story, who started with KindleWoods 3 years ago when going through debilitating depression. From a well being programme through to volunteering and now onto an assistant woodland wellbeing practitioner.
Well the benefits certainly don’t stop when the colder months arrive and they are running the sessions throughout winter, so with a little support of the Alpkit Foundation they wanted to make sure that the staff team are kitted up for the job, helping them to stay dry and warm so they can concentrate on supporting others.
We really are excited to see how this project can make a positive impact during these difficult times.
