Bikes and Bacon rates the updated Camino AL for its GRX 610 groupset, wide-range cassette and frame upgrades built for loaded gravel riding.
Bikes and Bacon spent proper time on the 2025 Camino AL, running it as a bikepacking-ready gravel bike rather than just a test loop, and came away rating it as serious value for anyone after quality bikepacking capability without a big-bike price tag.
The updated Shimano GRX 610 1x12 groupset was a highlight, described as "smoother and snappier" than what it replaced, with a 10-51 cassette wide enough that, as the review put it, no climb is safe
, loaded or not. The Schwalbe G-One Bite tyres, set up tubeless at 45mm, handled everything from tarmac to rougher trail without complaint.
They also liked the small but useful frame updates: a 27.2mm seatpost that takes a dropper or suspension post without shims, and new top tube mounts for bolting on a frame bag. Combined with the carbon fork and Bomber handlebar, the ride came out "very agile" while still soaking up the rough stuff, absorbing "minor shocks very well."
