Win a 4 night residential in Snowdonia

By Hati Whiteley>

In the name of helping people to overcome obstacles to Going Nice Places and Doing Good Things, the Alpkit Foundation and Boulder Adventures are offering one group the opportunity discover Snowdonia, learn new skills and take part in exciting activities in the outdoors with the experienced Boulder Adventures instructors.

Thanks to the generosity of Boulder Adventures, groups can apply for a 4 night residential outdoor activity course at the Bryn Du Mountain Centre, completely free of charge!

Staying in the self-catered accommodation, groups will follow a programme of outdoor activities in the beautiful natural playground of Snowdonia, learning anything from raft building and canoeing to rock climbing and gorge scrambling.

Those of you who follow the Alpkit Foundation will be familiar with our commitment to creating more accessible outdoors for anyone and everyone, whatever their background. We believe that learning in an outdoor environment is key for the development of young people and continues to enrich their lives way into adulthood. Spending time in the outdoors develops young people’s confidence, resilience and skills... It’s also jolly good fun!

Boulder Adventures take great care to match their residential activities to the abilities of the group. They design each activity to be challenging enough to engage all participants yet also fully achievable, enabling everyone to get the most adventure, action, fun, and learning out of the day (including teachers and group leaders!) The instructors understand that these residential courses quite often give young people their first taste of the outdoors, and work closely with group leaders to monitor progress.

Based in the heart of Snowdonia in the village of Llanberis, Boulder Adventures sits at the foot of Mount Snowdon and serves as the perfect base from which to explore the national park and make the most of its remarkable landscape. This provides groups with an incredible choice of activities, as mountains, lakes, rivers, and coastline are all in close proximity. Whilst an action-packed programme will be provided, the group some time to explore the village too.

Applications must be submitted by Friday 24th November for selection by the AK Foundation trustees on the 29th November.

Who can apply?

Applications are open to groups of up to 12, age range 13 %E2%80%93 16 years
