Pulling Together: People We Believe In

This is a difficult time for everyone. It’s been really heartwarming to see small and medium-sized businesses pulling together over the last week. Some of them are competitors, some are partners: all are friends.

We’re really lucky to work alongside some wonderful brands. Brands that go with us on our adventures. And behind every brand there are incredible people working early mornings, late nights and taking risks to make our dreams come true.

So while we’re all dreaming of a time when this storm blows over, check out some of the brands we love so much.

The Outdoor Swimming Society

Pioneers in outdoor swimming in rivers, lakes, lido and seas. The team behind The OSS is a small family of doers, adventurers, explorers, writers, thinkers and photographers, driven by a shared interest in swimming.

Outside

Outside is one of our favourite shops in the Peak District. Just over the road from our Hathersage store, they’ve got an amazing range of gear and a cafe that seems to have a magical ability to hit the spot every time - the falafel burger is a triumph!

Colin Hill: Ullswater Swim Place

Colin is an incredible swimmer and one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet. Colin runs the Ullswater Swim Place where he’ll take you out swimming on the lake or help improve your technique in the endless pool. The hotel where it’s based is seriously nice too.

Dirty Reiver

Cancelled this year but one of the greatest gravel challenges you can do in the UK in our opinion. In fact, it was the Dirty Reiver that inspired us to run the Sonder Winter Gravel Series this year. Thanks Dirty Reiver!

Saunders Lakeland Mountain Marathon

It’s ace to be involved with Saunders. Not only to we get to spend time with our kin on the mountains but the organisers are truly inspirational (days I speak to Stephen at Saunders almost always end with a run). If you haven’t done it before, put it on your list for the future.

Strathpuffer

One of the most ridiculous mountain bike races we’ve come across. Held in the middle of Winter entrants get to race in freezing temperatures. 17 hours of darkness across miles of gruelling terrain. Just our kind of people.

The Climbing Unit

It was quite a moment when Dan and his team opened The Climbing Unit and we were honoured to have been part of it. It's played a vibrant part on the bouldering scene, offering premier facilities here in the east midlands. With the current situation forcing closure it's going to be super important to help support them when they re-open.
