Dave Borthwick got in touch, he runs a mountain bike club in the Scottish Highlands. Here's a snippet of what they get upto-
"Our club meets every Tuesday and Thursday for our social rides. These are mostly local forest trails. We have weekend meets every weekend, and these are more adventurous. They normally involve a few OS maps and heading out into the local mountains for a "bike n' hike". There is never a shortage of places to go when you live in the middle of the Cairngorms!
We also join in with some competitive endurance races, normally as a few quad teams. Regular events we attend are the Stathpuffer 24hr race and the 10 Under the Ben over at Ft William. We even got a podium there for 3rd place male vets!
This year, we are starting up another sub-group for bikepacking adventures and have some great rides planned. One of which is a coast to coast all off-road challenge to raise funds for the local SCBU at Raigmore Hospital."
