Pack it. Stuff it. Chuck it (in the boot). The Explorer 50L is a durable gear gobbler for activities at home and away. The perfect holdall for toting gear from car to campsite, carrying all your winter kit on the train to The Highlands, or as check-in luggage for sport climbing or skiing trips abroad.
- Large 50L capacity for bigger trips
- Weatherproof, 100% recycled TPU main fabric
- Multiple heavy-duty lifting handles and removable shoulder straps
- 3-year Alpine Bond Guarantee
Explorer's construction is built to last with a reinforced base and a durable, weatherproof main fabric that shrugs off abrasion and gives reliable protection for your precious adventure kit from home to the slopes. It’s also made from recycled materials – 22 post-consumer recycled plastic bottles (if you’re counting!).
Sturdy, reinforced carry handles on all 4 sides give plenty of lifting options whether on your own or going one-handle-each with a friend for heavy loads. Stow-able shoulder straps convert it into a backpack in seconds - just slide them out of their pocket and clip in the straps for long distance carrying duties.
The spacious 50L main compartment is ideal for chucking kit in for planes, trains and car boots with a stable, flat bottom and a rounded top for easy packing. Ideal for travel; an internal mesh zipped pocket inside the lid keeps your important bits and bobs close to hand, plus a lockable main zip to ward off unwanted visitors and an ID card sleeve to help you identify your bag amongst the other AlpFans on the carousel.

Where It Is Made
Our products are made in the best factories in the world. We know the factories personally and they have all signed up to our Code of Ethics in our supply chain. This includes the Ethical Trading Initiative base code, fair pay, safe working environments, no child labour, no modern slavery, no bribery or corruption, no materials from conflict zones and humane farming methods.
All our factories sign up to our Code of Conduct. Find out where we make our product by visiting our Factories of Alpkit factory zone.
Reducing our carbon footprint
We are carbon neutral under PAS2060 and offset our Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 operations and transport emissions. We recognise that offsetting is not part of the solution but a point to pass through on a journey to Net Zero. Carbon Neutral is just a step in that journey.
We have joined the Science Based Targets Initiative which sets independent targets for us to achieve to do our bit to limit global warming to 1.5°C. Our targets are to halve our Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 2025 based on 2018 base year and reduce our total carbon intesnity by 15% every year to achieve genuine net zero by 2050.
