We will spend approximately 30 minutes on the BSO site, looking at fundamentals of navigation on a large teaching map before splitting the group in to two teams based on experience, knowledge and ability.
Then we’ll drive up to Longstone Moor (approx 10 minutes) where we’ll spend two hours on practical skills out on the moor using map, compass, looking at ground features and navigating between them using bearings, pacing and timing.
Please bring appropriate clothing for the conditions, some refreshments and your own compass if you have one.
